New Trustees Appointed For Eastland Community Trust
Two new trustees have been appointed to the Eastland Community Trust. They are Gisborne Herald managing director Michael Muir and lawyer Vicki Thorpe.
In announcing their appointment, Mayor Meng Foon said he was delighted with the choices and the two new trustees would make a valued contribution to the future of the trust and the region.
Michael Muir is a qualified accountant with extensive participation in commerce and community organisations. He has managed The Gisborne Herald and its subsidiary businesses in Gisborne for many years and has extensive governance and business experience. Mr Muir was awarded the OBE in 1993 for services to the community and local business.
Vicki Thorpe holds a law degree with honours. She has been involved in the community at a number of levels, holds many professional memberships and has been the president of the Gisborne District Law Society.
