A community initiative is a project that has a significant benefit to a substantial number of people in the community. It won’t require any ongoing involvement from the ECT and won’t expose the ECT to any future claims or financial risk.

ECT continues to be in a position to offer significant funding. More than $15.5 million is available for projects between 2009 and 2014.

We no longer give out grants but we do have a community investment strategy that will make investments in community infrastructure and projects that will enhance economic growth and transform our community.

Under the community investment strategy the Trust releases up to 50% of its post tax income for investment in projects. So the more income the Trust generates the more money that’s available for distribution.
