
The Eastland Energy Community Trust was created on May 7, 1993 and has as its governing document a deed of trust. The Trust changed its name to Eastland Community Trust (ECT) on December 6, 2004.
The ECT will assist in creating a more Positive, Prosperous and Attractive community.
Qualifications: Bachelor of Science majoring in Physical geography. Postgraduate diploma in Business excellence. National diploma in Civil engineering.
The Eastland Community Trust is managed by a board of seven trustees. The trustees and general manager meet monthly to hear and consider applications, and discuss trust business.
ECT’s investment portfolio is made of passive investments (term deposits, shares, international currencies, and property), the Eastland Group, and the Eastland Development Fund Limited (EDFL).
Trustee meetings are monthly and are advertised in The Gisborne Herald. Meetings are open for the public to attend, however the trustees retain the right to discuss matters of a private or commercially sensitive nature with the public excluded.
